Gino Romero
Gino Romero is a queer and trans Venezuelan-American artist whose interdisciplinary practice spans printmaking, installation, performance, and book arts. Their work explores themes of memory, ritual, and ancestral veneration, often addressing systemic issues such as colonialism and anti-queer discrimination. Romero holds an MFA in Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design and a BA in Studio Art from Florida State University. Their art has been exhibited internationally, including at the Museum of Fine Arts in Tallahassee, Grace Exhibition Space in New York, and 5533 in Istanbul. Romero's work is part of collections at institutions like the Art Institute of Chicago, Harvard University, and the University of Southern California. Currently based in Queens, NY, Romero continues to create works that serve as living archives informed by queer, trans, and Latinx experiences.
