Serron Green
Serron Green, also known as xplorefreedom, is a multidisciplinary artist whose work bridges street art and historical narrative, drawing from decades of lived experience and cultural exploration.
Raised in Newark, New Jersey during the height of the Black Power Movement and coming of age in the 1980s graffiti scene, Green developed a visual language rooted in resistance, creativity, and self-definition. His layered compositions reflect a deep engagement with Black identity, memory, and the physicality of urban life. Green’s ability to collapse the boundaries between fine art and street culture has earned him recognition at institutions such as the Newark Museum of Art and galleries across the country.
Green’s work speaks with clarity and urgency, shaped not only by his Newark roots but by extensive travels across Europe, the Caribbean, and the Americas. These global perspectives infuse his practice with a sense of scale and connection, affirming his belief that art can both preserve and provoke.
